So this month kicked off with a mini assignment to draw faces and people. I draw a lot of characters in my work which tend to be either children, animals or monsters so I thought great! but how can I push myself? The answer - draw Adults.
Starting point - Life Drawing, I loved this class earlier on in my degree course, it didn't matter that the model was a guy, naked and had tons of sag (poor chap), the teacher encouraged us to draw fast, use charcoal and inks and more importantly just like Lilla, don't over think it. Except yes, I over think it and I forget to look at the shapes.
The main assignment was to use our faces and people for Editorial. More specifically an Illustration for a manuscript on Meditation for a magazine. This is a snippet of my final piece above. I ditched the mental block and went with the flow.
