I took a trip to Abbey Park in Leicester to research & sketch some ideas for a project and this is one of my sketchbook paintings.

New book illustrations

I am currently working on my new children's book concept hence the lack of posts but I have uploaded a couple of bits for everyone to enjoy
I have been working on a picture book based on a little girl finding an alien on her bed one morning and showing him/her, her everyday life. It's still work in progress and this is one of the early drawings of the little girl.

This is actually the front cover of one of my 2nd year University sketchbooks.

I have one or two more like this for different projects. 

Sometimes a particular item of clothing or style will lead to a new character sketch.

Books and drawing pencils were about the only thing that could entertain me for long periods of time in my childhood and the magic of Disney captivated me from my first viewing of Sleeping Beauty so inevitably when the careers advisor asks, "what job could you see yourself doing?"
I think, when I grow up I want to be a Children's Book Illustrator!
So with that in mind I have set up a new art blog to show off many illustrations I have doodled along the way.
